Mikhail Burla, “We can offer unique scientific projects to the world”

The deputies discussed the project of the state target program "Development Strategy of PSU named after T. G. Shevchenko for the period 2019-2023”. The provisions of the Strategy will fix the main directions of development of the main university of the republic. Among the main directions of the strategy there are preparation of the staff for requirements of the state, the innovative activity of the university, the creation of an active scientific environment, interaction with Russian research centers, the material and technical equipment of the university.

According to the first vice-rector of the PGU named after T.G. Shevchenko Nikolai Smolensky, this is the fourth version of the strategy in recent years. Considered today the state target program is designed for 5 years. The document was developed taking into account the main provisions of the Development Strategy of the PMR for the next 8 years.

The total amount of funding is 37 million rubles. A part of the funds will be allocated from the budget, and the university will also attract special funds received from the provision of various educational services.

In addition, it is planned to attract funds from additional extrabudgetary sources. Chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture Mikhail Burla called this strategy “a business plan for external investors”. Legislative consolidation of the activities of the university, according to the deputy, will allow attracting additional resources from extrabudgetary sources.

The main thing that is interesting about Pridnestrovian experience for foreign universities, in the opinion of Mikhail Burly, is ensuring optimal inter-ethnic, interfaith rights and relations. This factor contributes to ensuring stability in any state; therefore, its study attracts representatives of the foreign scientific community. In addition, the main university of the republic can share scientific developments in the development of agriculture.

Scientific interest and unrecognized status of the republic. A number of areas that PSU are working at, relate to the development of tourism. The sphere is promising for development, therefore international scientific and practical conferences are devoted to the topic. The draft PSU Development Strategy was supported by deputies in the first reading.

Parliamentarians at today's meeting discussed a number of changes relating to the state target program "Textbook" for 2017-2021. The amendment concerns the provision of educational and methodological literature of educational organizations with Moldovan and Ukrainian languages ​​of instruction. As Minister of Education Tatyana Loginova emphasized, the proposed norms are formed on the basis of requests from educational institutions of cities and regions of the republic.

Textbooks for Moldovan-language schools for elementary schools, as well as algebra (Grade 9) will be published and reprinted; a textbook on the Ukrainian language and literature (7th grade) for schools with Russian as the language of instruction and the “The world around us” (3rd grade) for Ukrainian schools. We are also talking about ensuring the teaching of the regional component, which includes subjects related to our republic.
