Two state target programs "Prevention of HIV/AIDS infection and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" and "Prevention of viral hepatitis B and C in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2021-2024" expired at the end of 2024. Deputies discussed reports on their implementation for the entire period of their validity at a plenary session of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
Almost 21 million rubles were allocated from the republican budget for the state program for the prevention of HIV/AIDS infections and sexually transmitted infections over 5 years from 2020 to 2024. Most of the funds were directed to medical and social assistance to people living with these diseases, as well as their family members.
The Supreme Council approved a new state program for the republic for the prevention of viral hepatitis B and C in 2021. Its main goals were to create a state registry of patients with viral hepatitis B and C, develop laboratory diagnostic services and treatment. The state program proved its effectiveness during the first years of operation. 681 patients with suspected or confirmed chronic hepatitis B applied to the dispensary. 105 people began antiviral therapy. Another 1433 patients began antiviral therapy against viral hepatitis C. 1120 people completed treatment. However, the incidence of viral hepatitis B and C in Pridnestrovie remains high, with a pronounced upward trend.
Ministry of Health specialists came to the conclusion that both programs should be extended. Therefore, these two programs were combined into one from 2025. The deputies reviewed reports on the implementation of 4 state programs in the field of healthcare at the plenary session last year. Thus, vaccination against 11 dangerous infections continued within the framework of the state program for immunization of the population of the PMR in 2024: tuberculosis, viral hepatitis B, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, Haemophilus influenzae infection, pneumococcal infection, measles, rubella and mumps. 4.3 million rubles were allocated from the republican budget for the purchase of vaccines and equipment, organization of transportation and laboratory diagnostics in 2024.
