Each year, the Government submits to the deputy corps information on the situation of children in the republic. Today, Minister of Education Tatyana Loginova addressed the deputies with a state report. The information presented contains an analysis of the main aspects of children's life: the state of their health, level of physical development, organization of summer vacations, education and upbringing.
The Head of the department drew attention to a decrease in the average number of children. Compared to 2017, their number decreased by 562 children and amounted to 82 599 people last year. The birth rate is declining: 4086 newborns, which is 414 less than in 2017. At the same time, there is a tendency towards decrease in infant mortality, and overall, the incidence of children is decreasing.
The number of students was increased by 102 people, compared with 2017. In 2018, their total number was 45188 people. There is also an increase in the number of graduates who graduated with honors. Last year, 220 children won gold medals and 160 silver medals. According to the Minister of Education, the number of children entering the universities of our republic, not beyond its borders, has increased. Last year, about 600 Pridnestrovian graduates entered universities in other countries (Russia, Ukraine, Moldova). In 2017, this figure reached thousands of graduates.
A separate topic is children's nutrition. Its discussion was initiated by lawmakers. According to Tatyana Loginova, the provision of products in kindergartens, such as juices, fish, eggs, fruits, butter, has improved. In schools, the problem of organizing hot meals for students remains unresolved.
Parliamentarian Oleg Vasilaty focused on the fact that teachers in some schools have to lay tables for children. It is impractical, according to the Deputy, a separate approach to catering for beneficiaries and "payers".
According to the head of the relevant parliamentary committee, Mikhail Burla, it is necessary to initiate an audit by the Accounting Chamber of schools on the issue of catering for students.
Deputies during the meeting spoke about textbooks in mathematics under the authorship of Istomina, since today most of the parents of students raise this issue. Parliamentarians focused on providing specialized literature for special children. Today it is almost five thousand children. There are 13 such organizations of special (correctional) education in the republic.
There is still no technical possibility of producing such literature in Pridnestrovie, so today the Russian Federation is helping to provide educational institutions of the republic with Braille books, the minister noted.
All proposals voiced by deputies are systematized by a profile committee. They will be included in the form of mandate points in the resolution of the Supreme Council, which will be discussed and adopted at the next plenary meeting.
