The Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic appointed Alisa Kokhanova to the post of editor-in-chief of the Gomin republican newspaper. Her candidacy was proposed by the Government. The Parliamentary Committee on Education, Public Associations and Mass Media recommended adopting a corresponding resolution on her appointment to the post. The Resolution of the Supreme Council was adopted at the plenary session on October 30.
According to Art. 8-2 of the Law of the PMR "On Mass Media", Alisa Kokhanova will work in the post of editor-in-chief for 5 years from the date of appointment.
The new editor meets the requirements specified by the relevant law. The head must be a citizen of the PMR, have a higher education and at least 5 years of experience in the field of journalism. Alisa Kokhanova has been working for the Gomin newspaper since 2015, where she held the position of correspondent. From May 2016 to January 2017, she served as deputy editor-in-chief. During her time at the newspaper, she proved herself to be a responsible, efficient and correct journalist, capable of working for the benefit of the newspaper, the Government’s submission notes.
In addition, Alisa Kokhanova took an active part in the development of the Ukrainian public movement in Pridnestrovie. She founded the Chervona Kalina Ukrainian Culture Society in Tiraspol in 1990. She contributed to the creation and development of the Union of Ukrainians of Pridnestrovie.
Commenting on the adopted Resolution of the Supreme Council on the appointment of a new editor-in-chief of the Gomin newspaper, the parliamentarian identified 2 areas for the development of the publication.
The Resolution of the Supreme Council comes into force on the day of its adoption.
