26.12.2018

The last meeting of the renewal parliamentary faction in the outgoing year was held today. The head of the parliamentary association Petr Pasat summed up the work and noted the spheres in which control should be strengthened.

To date, 20 deputies are members of the faction. 30 meetings were held during the year, at which the legislations included in the agendas of the plenary sessions, the participation “The Obnovlenie” deputies in various events, work in the districts, as well as new legislative initiatives were discussed.

The situations in the sphere of healthcare, the course of implementation of the program of the orders of voters were discussed at the site of the parliamentary faction.

According to the faction leader, legislative work was carried out in a number of spheres. This is the support of the real sector of the economy, measures to stabilize it, social policy. Among the most significant laws adopted this year, Peter Pasat called the law on public procurement, laws that reform the system of work of individual entrepreneurs, as well as a package of documents on state support for investment activities. The head of the parliamentary faction emphsaized that the document providing unprecedented benefits for investors was highly appreciated by international experts.

At the same time, Peter Pasat noted, parliamentarians often “had to find a middle ground between proposals for expanding a number of benefits for citizens and the financial capabilities of the state”. In the outgoing year, members of the faction conducted active international activities - they met with colleagues from Russia, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, and Karabakh.

The leader of the faction drew attention of colleagues to the shortcomings. He believes that the deputies do not fully use the tool to monitor compliance with the deadlines for the submission of important documents to parliament. So, the draft budget for 2019 came from the government with a delay - as a result, an important document was considered in an emergency mode. There are questions regarding the transparency of the state reserve fund. At the last meeting of the Presidium of the Supreme Council, its members initiated parliamentary hearings on this topic. At the same time, all those who spoke at the meeting of the faction talked about effective joint work, which allowed achieving good results.

Prime Minister Alexander Martynov believes that the year 2018 was the year of “great teamwork, working for results”.

Alexander Martynov proposed the deputies to strengthen the interaction of parliamentary committees with the government. The head of the Government believes particular attention should be paid to the state of affairs in housing and public utilities and health care.

Parliamentarian Andrei Safonov, who regularly participates in meetings of the faction, called the decision to raise salaries and pensions the most important outcome of the year. He believes that it is necessary to adhere to the current "course of stabilization" in order to avoid "the threat of a return to the helm of those who have unbalanced everything here to the limit".

We talked about plans for next year. According to the Chairman of the Supreme Council Alexander Scherba who took part in the meeting of the faction, a number of "systemic issues" will be discussed together. They relate to reform, the mechanism of pension guarantees, the education system and health care.

Most likely, the speaker noted, the changes will affect the pension system. He explained that the pension burden on the Pridnestrovian economy is becoming unbearable, and now the state received a “respite”, due to the fact that some citizens have switched to the pension fund of Russia. During this time, you need to make sure that the pension system of Pridnestrovie has become consistent with the economic potential of the republic, said Alexander Shcherba.

During the meeting of the parliamentary faction, members discussed a number of issues on the agenda of the plenary session.
