Stages of education development

The next plenary session of the Supreme Council is scheduled for February 27. Today members of the Presidium considered a number of issues that will be included to the agenda. The deputies' corps will discuss amendments to the law “On approval of the state target program “Textbook” for 2017–2021”. As explained by the chairman of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture, Mikhail Burla, the program developed by the government and approved by the Supreme Council is aimed at providing Ukrainian and Moldovan schools with relevant educational literature. It also concerns the provision of teaching for the regional component.

Currently, the program "Textbook" is being implemented. However, there is a need to make certain additions to it. It is submitted by the government and approved by the Supreme Council.

In particular, textbooks for schools with Moldovan language of education for elementary schools, as well as algebra (Grade 9) will be published and reprinted; a textbook on the Ukrainian language and literature (7th grade) for schools with Russian as the language of instruction and the “The world around us” (3rd grade) for Ukrainian schools.

The law-in-draft, introducing amendments to the state target program “Textbook” for 2017–2021, will be submitted for consideration by the plenary session in the first reading.

The state target program “Development strategy of PSU named after Taras Shevchenko for the period 2019-2023”. The main objectives of the development of the Pridnestrovian university are the transition to the fourth-generation educational standards for undergraduate, specialty, graduate, postgraduate and advanced higher education programs; training of personnel meeting the demands of the republic’s labor market; creating conditions for inclusive education; development of material and technical base; introduction of innovations in the educational process; development and implementation of distance learning; expansion of interaction with universities of Russia and others.

The strategic goal of the state program is to create a competitive educational environment that allows the university to maintain a worthy place in the sphere of educational services.

The amount of planned funding is 37 million rubles. Part of the funds will be allocated from the republican budget, the other is special funds from the university providing various educational, scientific, advisory services. In addition, it is planned to further attract funds from extrabudgetary sources.

The first meeting of the Supreme Council in March is scheduled for March 13.
