The Housing Code will be supplemented with a number of new norms. One of them concerns the procedure for payments for elevator maintenance. Today, the funds that residents of apartment buildings pay for the maintenance of elevators are collected in the accounts of the housing department. Then the management company transfers it to specialized organizations. It happens that money does not always reach organizations that carry out maintenance of elevators in a timely manner. Ultimately, this affects the quality of services.
The Housing Code will be supplemented with a norm that will fix the ability to make payments for apartments and utilities in electronic form. Internet payments are already widely used. According to the author of the initiative, our legislation must correspond to modern realities.
At the same time, the ability to pay for utility services using paper receipts will remain as a norm of the Housing Code, since many cooperatives have not yet switched to electronic payment.
