Archiving

The meeting was held by the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva. The meeting was attended by the deputy Grigory Dyachenko, representatives of the state archive, as well as government representatives.

On October 24, 2018, amendments to the Act “On Acts of Civil Status” were adopted, in accordance with which the retention periods for documents in the registry office were increased from 75 to 100 years. After this period the documents must be transferred to the state archive. Representatives of the State Service for the Management of Records and Archives made a number of proposals that, in their opinion, should be introduced into the law “On Archival Affairs” in connection with innovations. All interested parties expressed their opinion on this issue. As a result, it was decided that the Supreme Council, while working on the law on “Archiving”, would take into account the proposals of the archival service. In addition, Vice-Speaker Galina Antyufeyeva assured representatives of the State Service for Management of Documentation and Archives that all changes related to the work of the archive service will be coordinated with its specialists during working meetings.
