Privatization is on the agenda

31.01.2018

Deputies in the course of the plenary session today will have to discuss a number of legislations that are on the agenda. There are few of them, however, a long discussion arose during the meeting of “The Obnovlenie” (Renewal) parliamentary faction in the consideration of documents. It concerned the law-in-draft "State Program of Denationalization and Privatization in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for 2016-2017". Earlier, the document passed the procedure of the first reading at the session of the Supreme Council on the 24th of January. The government, which has acted as the author of the legislative initiative, proposes the following enterprises to be included in the state program of denationalization and privatization: Closed Joint-Stock Company of Rybnitsa Cement Plant (a 25% state stake); Closed Joint-Stock Company "Vestra sewing company" (state shareholding in the amount of 25%) and the closed joint-stock company "Expocenter of Pridnestrovie" (state shareholding in the amount of 65.05%).

Deputies from Rybnitsa Andrey Safonov and Vadim Kravchuk, and they were supported by the vice-speaker of the parliament Galina Antyufeeva, suppose that it is necessary to exclude the cement plant from the privatization program.

A lot of questions for the deputies arose in relation to ZAO "Expocenter of Pridnestrovie". Today there is no one who wants to buy this object. In the opinion of the deputies, it would be possible to place a single settlement center in the building that operates on the principle of "one window", following the example of the Russian MFCs.

Considerable investments will be required to save the production and labor potential of the RCC. Today the state does not have it, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economic Development Sergei Obolonik, who took part in the work of the parliamentary faction, explained. He explained to the legislators the essence and prospects of the government's initiative. There was a talk about the sale of shareholding of ZAO Electromash. Today the company is experiencing positive dynamics, but in the future there may be problems, said Sergei Obolonik

He Emphasized: the objects included in the privatization program will necessarily be sold "with encumbrances aimed at the development of the enterprise".

The majority of the faction members supported the initiative of the government. Alexander Shcherba, Chairman of the Supreme Council, who took part in the meeting of the faction, said that the sale of shareholding to new owners should be accompanied by serious investment plans to increase jobs, the taxable base.

Today the deputy corps will take a final decision on this issue during the plenary session.
