30 years on guard of the peace: Tiraspol celebrated the anniversary of the operational group of Russian troops

A festive concert dedicated to the anniversary of OGRT was held in Tiraspol. The event gathered military personnel, veterans, young Army, as well as the first persons of the republic, among them the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Chairman Galina Antyufeeva and the PMR Supreme Council Deputy Oleg Bayev.

The commander of the operational group of Russian troops Dmitry Zelenkov congratulating the personnel emphasized that the group has gone the way to establish, development and increase combat training over three decades.

The predecessor of the operational group of Russian troops was the 14th Army of the USSR, formed in 1956 on the basis of two rifle corps: 10th Budapest, participated in the Battle of Stalingrad, in the Yassy-Chisinau operation, in the liberation of the Kuban and Donbass, and the 24th Bratislavsky, fought in the Kursk battle and liberated Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Romania, Romania, Romania Czechoslovakia.

Units of the 14th Army actually became a buffer between the parties in the midst of an armed conflict between Moldova and Pridnestrovie in 1992. The army command took decisive measures that stopped escalating the conflict in the Bendery region under the leadership of General Alexander Lebed in June 1992. This contributed to the signing on July 21, 1992, the agreement on the ceasefire and the entry of a joint peacekeeping contingent in Pridnestrovie.

The operational group of Russian troops is protecting ammunition depots in the village of Kolbasna and is preparing military personnel for the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Pridnestrovie.

The operational group of Russian troops was congratulated on the anniversary by the chairman of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic Alexander Korshunov. He emphasized in his address the effectiveness of the peacekeeping mission and noted that it is the operational group of Russian troops in Pridnestrovie who reception and training of young replenishment, instructs the skills of owning weapons and military equipment, preparing officers, warrant officers, sergeants and soldiers for service as part of the peacekeeping contingent.

Not a single clashes, not a single armed provocation occurred in the area of ​​responsibility of the Russian troops for three decades. This is one of the few successful examples of a peacekeeping mission, which ensures stable stability in the potentially conflict region. In addition to security tasks, military personnel are actively engaged in patriotic education of youth-through young Army detachments, military-patriotic clubs and educational initiatives. The main result of the 30-year service is the world on the banks of the Dniester.
