Work on the 2022 budget in the second reading

The meeting of the profile committee lasted more than 7 hours. Approximately 130 amendments in total were received from the subjects of legislative initiative were considered after the consideration of the draft law on the budget for the next year in the first reading. Let us remind you that the procedure for considering the budget implies the adoption of the document in three readings. The main parameters were approved in the first. These are the planned income, items of expenditure and the amount of funds that are planned to be spent on them. Corrections were made in the second reading to the text part, principles and approaches to the directions of spending budget funds are determined. Target programs for the next year will be approved in the third reading. The Supreme Council will consider the law-in-draft "On the Republican Budget for 2022" at plenary meeting in the second reading tomorrow, on December 22.

Deputies of the Committee on Economic Policy during the meeting supported the candidacy of Alexei Melnik, presented by the Head of the PRB, for the post of first deputy chairman of the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank. Alexey Melnik has been working in this position since 2016.

The relevant committee considered at the meeting the draft law with amendments and additions to the law "On approval of the state target program "Support and development of entrepreneurship in the PMR" for 2019-2021".

The government has proposed extending the program implementation period for one more year. This program was designed to develop entrepreneurship as one of the factors that ensures a high level of employment of the population and economic growth of the state. The program has been operating since 2019 and has proved its effectiveness in three years. It was proposed to allocate funds for the implementation of this state program in 2022 from the Entrepreneurship Development Fund. If the Supreme Council supports this law-in-draft, next year the business school will continue to function at the site of the Pridnestrovian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The school for future businessmen forms the basic knowledge and skills that allow entrepreneurs to shape the running of their own business. By the way, 460 participants were trained at the business school in 2020. It is also planned to continue the implementation of the “Buy Pridnestrovian!” project.

The Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance will recommend the Supreme Council to adopt the law-in-draft in two readings at once.
