A new state program for the prevention and treatment of HIV infection, viral hepatitis B and C, and sexually transmitted infections should be launched in Pridnestrovie this year. The specialized committee on social policy and healthcare has prepared a draft of the new state program for the second reading. It is necessary to adopt the new law, since two specialized programs expired at the end of last year: “Prevention of HIV/AIDS infection and sexually transmitted infections” and “Prevention of viral hepatitis B and C in the PMR”.

The new state program will be calculated until 2028 inclusive. Prevention and treatment of these diseases are planned for 4 years. It is planned to constantly monitor the situation, test citizens for HIV/syphilis and viral hepatitis B and C, and vaccinate. The Committee deputies prepared for the second reading 72 editorial amendments to the text of the law-in-draft, mainly related to adjusting the name of the state program: "Prevention and treatment of HIV infection, viral hepatitis B and C and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" for 2025-2028. The deputies of the Committee on Social Policy also prepared amendments to the labor legislation for consideration in the second reading. The law-in-draft was developed by the Government based on the results of the Interdepartmental Working Group on updating the norms of the Labor Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. This working group included representatives of the executive bodies of state power, the Union of Industrialists, Farmers and Entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie and the Federation of Trade Unions of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The main goal of the amendments is to update the labor legislation and the rules of labor protection and safety. Taking into account the comments and suggestions, the Committee on Social Policy prepared about 100 amendments for the second reading. The relevant issues of the Committee on Social Policy may be included in the agenda of the plenary session scheduled for the 19th of February by decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Council.
