Parliamentary committee proposed a number of amendments to the law on mass media. The main reasons for the adjustment – is in existence since 2008, the situation with the functioning of the state media, associated with enduring disputes about their foundation, monopolization, funding. According to one of the authors of the law-in-draft, the chairman of the Committee on Public Associations, Sports, Information and Youth Policy Igor Buga, the purpose of its development is to establish a common approach to the approval of the state television and radio. It is assumed that their founders may act as president and the legislative, executive and judiciary - the Supreme Council, the Government and the Council of Judges. The agreement must be expressed within 30 days from the date of notification of the establishment of the state mass media. Re-registration of existing TV and radio should be carried out since the adoption of the law. According to the initiative, funding is expected from the national budget.
Civil service of media in general supported the idea, but its leader voiced a number of questions and comments on the proposed regulations. According to Inna Deleva, for example, the Council of judges did not have the authority to the foundation of the media. They asked whether the foundation is mandatory or branches of government were granted such a right. The official representative of the President of the Supreme Council Vladimir Bodnar, in turn, drew attention to the fact that neither the existing nor the proposed wording of the law the Committee spelled out what the "state media".
Work on the law-in-draft continues. The Committee will recommend to the deputies to adopt it in the first reading
