The first meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy this year

The first meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance took place. The deputies together with those invited discussed a number of important issues including the legislative initiatives of the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on amending the law on the budget for 2023 that are aimed at resolving the issues of paying wages to employees of construction organizations employed at facilities financed from the budget, and paying a unified social tax, as well as extending state of emergency in the country.

The President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic considered it necessary, due to the failure to achieve normalization of the economic situation caused by the reduction in natural gas supply, to extend the validity of the special legal status - the state of emergency for 30 days, as Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the PMR in the Supreme Council of the PMR Anastasia Kipyatkova noted at the meeting of the Committee.

The deputies unanimously supported the President of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The Presidential Decree on the extension of the state of emergency will have to be approved by parliamentarians in the course of the plenary session in the near future.

Earlier the emergency economic regime was first introduced on October 21, when it became known about the reduction in natural gas supplies to the republic by a third. The priority, as the country's leadership has repeatedly stated, is to provide the population with energy carriers. It was decided to reduce the consumption of natural gas at the expense of industry. Pridnestrovie needs at least 100 million cubic meters of natural gas per month for its own needs.

Another issue discussed by the deputies of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance concerns budget funds and the establishment of a unified procedure for the execution of contracts in the implementation of capital construction, reconstruction, overhaul, as well as current repairs at the expense of budgets of various levels and extra-budgetary funds. The PMR President proposes to make changes to the law on the budget-2023.

The law-in-draft was considered in two readings at once in the course of the meeting of the Committee on Economic Policy.

The deputies of the Committee voted for the adoption of the law-in-draft in two readings at once. The document will be included in the agenda of one of the next plenary meetings.
