Benefits for sewers and lawyers

Комитет по экономической политике, бюджету и финансам

Deputies considered in the second reading amendments to the law “On additional measures aimed at stabilizing the PMR economy” in the course of the meeting of the parliamentary committee on economic policy, budget and finance. The law-in-draft is about state support for garment enterprises. Currently, these industries are experiencing an acute shortage of workers.

The existing shortage of workers, in the opinion of representatives of enterprises of the clothing industry, can be filled by attracting new workers who are not residents of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The main job incentive for these people will be the provision of standard tax deductions for wages, established by tax legislation only for residents of the republic.

Representatives of the Union of Industrialists, Agrarians and Entrepreneurs of Pridnestrovie for their part propose not only to be limited to the seamstresses, but to expand the list of working specialties covered by this benefit. At the same time, in the opinion of the members of the Committee, it is not yet sufficiently detailed that it will lose the budget, subject to the provision of benefits. As a result, it was decided to continue working on this law-in-draft in the second reading together with the government and all interested parties.

At the committee meeting, deputies considered amendments and additions to the laws “On Personal Income Tax” and “On Unified Social Tax and Mandatory Insurance Contributions”, which relate to reducing the tax burden for lawyers.

In addition, according to Oleg Vasilaty, high tax burden undoubtedly “pushes” the relations of individuals and legal entities with lawyers “in the shadow”. In this regard, in order to optimize the collection of taxes on the income of lawyers, this law-in-draft proposes to establish temporary rules, from January 1, 2020 to December 31, 2021, reducing the tax burden on the income of lawyers.

The deputies of the Committee supported the law-in-draft, it will be submitted for discussion at the next plenary session.
