The initiative of Deputy Oleg Petrik, aimed at regulating the activities of peasant (farming) households in populated areas, became one of the issues considered in the course of the meeting of the committee on agro-industrial complex, industry, transport, construction and natural resources of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, which was held on the 20th of September.

The initiative concerns amendments to the "Land Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic ", the law "On peasant (farming) households" and the Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic on administrative offenses. Deputy Oleg Petrik explained that recently he has been receiving a large number of requests and complaints from voters of his constituency No. 3 in Bendery. Residents of the private sector are concerned that some citizens are buying up old and/or abandoned houses and plots of land and creating livestock farms in these yards, the size of which goes beyond the scope of personal subsidiary farms. Dozens of heads of cattle and pigs are kept, which creates unbearable conditions for neighbors on such plots, in the immediate vicinity of residential buildings. Oleg Petrik noted that today the legislation only provides for sanitary standards for the distances from residential buildings to farms, which are formally observed. Inspections by supervisory authorities often do not lead to a change in the situation, since unscrupulous citizens often have time to prepare for inspections: they take out livestock, reducing its number. The legislative initiative proposed by the deputy is aimed at prohibiting the improper use of land plots intended for subsidiary farms within the boundaries of populated areas, as well as the transfer of large livestock farms outside their boundaries. It is proposed to establish administrative liability for violating the land legislation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. These measures will improve the quality of life of rural residents and ensure stricter control over the activities of peasant farms. Deputies of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex supported the author of the initiative and recommend that the Supreme Council adopt the package of legislations in the first reading. All comments and suggestions will be taken into account in the course of further work on the law-in-draft.
