The problem of lack of teachers and educators in the republic was discussed today in the course of the meeting of the Committee on Education, Science and Culture. Vadim Levitsky, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance, suggested how to solve this problem. He introduced law-in-draft that would allow setting the teaching load at two rates of pay to the parliament. This is only in exceptional cases and with the permission of the relevant department.
There is also a personnel problem in the sphere of culture. Deputies of the profile committee will propose at the plenary session to discuss the issue of increasing the load to two rates not only for educators, but also for culture. The law-in-draft is planned to be considered on July 22 in two readings at once.
Report on the implementation last year of the state target program “Development Strategy of PSU named after T.G. Shevchenko for 2019–2023 was discussed today in the course of the meeting of the Education Committee".
The PSU rector added that, despite difficult financial situation, the university successfully solves state problems. There are approximately a thousand teachers and professors, 300 people are attracted from ministries and departments for part-time work. More than 9 thousand students study at the university.
Deputies of the relevant committee heard a report on the implementation in 2019 of the state target program "Preservation of immovable objects of cultural heritage of the PMR requiring urgent repair for 2019-2021". According to the Head of the State Service for Culture and Historical Heritage of the PMR Maria Kyrmyz, last year, repair work was carried out at 12 objects. This is 95.4% of the planned volume. The capital's Memorial of Glory, the monument to soldiers-aviators in Tiraspol, the monument to Soviet soldiers who died during the Great Patriotic War in Slobodzeya, and other objects have been updated.
