The first meeting of the Committee on Agro-Industrial Complex and Natural Resources after the summer holidays was held today. The parliamentarians together with those invited discussed a number of issues that will be submitted for discussion by the deputies at the next plenary sessions of the Supreme Council of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic.
One of the topical issues is the changes to the Forest Code of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky has repeatedly spoken about the necessity of introduction the institute of compensatory gardening in the territory of Pridnestrovie. That is to establish a mandatory double compensatory landscaping at the legislative level. This means that it will be necessary to plant two trees instead of one felled tree.
The requirements of the new law will affect the entire territory of the republic. It is proposed to make double compensatory landscaping mandatory in settlements, parks, squares, arboretums, botanical gardens, groves, boulevards and agricultural lands. Deputies of the Committee considered the amendments to the law-in-draft and propose to consider it at one of the next plenary meetings in the second final reading today.
Another package of legislations was discussed by the AIC Committee during the first reading. Amendments and additions to the Law of the PMR "On Road Safety" and the Law of the PMR "On the Fundamentals of Protecting the Health of Citizens" are aimed at restricting the driving of vehicles for those who have medical contraindications, fixing the procedure for terminating the right to drive a vehicle due to persons with medical contraindications or restrictions on driving and to introduce into the legislative field the exchange of data necessary for this between the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the PMR and the Ministry of Health. The grounds for terminating the right to drive may be the registration of the driver's license holder in medical institutions for the treatment of patients with alcoholism, drug addiction, substance abuse in addition to identifying medical contraindications or restrictions on driving during a mandatory medical examination.
The AIC Committee made a number of comments. Representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs are ready to work on them in preparation for the second reading.
