The law-in-draft "On Mass Media" was presented for the deputies by the Head of the State Service for Media Inna Deleva. She noted that prescribed standards were developed by analogy with the Russian law and generally upgrade public relations in the sphere of media. Head of the State Service also focused attention on some of the parameters prescribed in the law-in-draft. Among them – there is a ban on the publication in the media and information and telecommunication networks, information about a minor, suffered as a result of illegal actions (inaction), the creation of the state information system in the sphere of media, maintaining the register of registered media, limitations associated with the establishment of TV channels, radio channels, TV-, radio-, video programs and organizations (legal entities) broadcasters. The reporter was asked questions of deputies after speaking.
In the course of the discussion, proposed by the Government law-in-draft "On Mass Media" the relevant committee for public associations gave a negative assessment of the document. According to the deputy Andrei Safonov, the law-in-draft does not create conditions for equal access of the branches of government. In the course of the profile committee the author was offered by legislators to withdraw the document, in which a number of questions arose from the deputies. Committee Chairman Igor Buga drew attention to the absence of the concept of state media in the law-in-draft. In turn, the relevant committee is working on its own version of the draft basic law. The company plans to hold public hearings with stakeholders on the Parliament site.
