Members of the Russian delegation, which included Deputies and candidates for the State Duma, accompanied by Pridnestrovian parliamentarians Galina Antyufeeva, Vadim Doni visited the Holy Ascension New-Neamt monastery. Its rector Father Paissy introduced the guests to today monastery life  and told the story of the center of the Pridnestrovian Orthodox Church, which has more than one and a half centuries. The guests learned that the original construction lasted almost half a century. The monastery survived the war, destruction, persecution, the revival of ... In the early 60-ies of the last century there was a terrible period of oblivion - the monastery was closed. The storage of medicines Odessa Military District, tuberculosis hospital, a cinema, a club museum housed different times in his holy walls. In the early 90s it was returned to the Church. Another round of historical - revival - is inextricably linked with father Paissy service. The father, touring the churches (in the territory of the monastery there are four -Svyato Ascension Cathedral (summer), Assumption Church (winter), Nicholas (seminary) and Holy Cross (refectory) temples), told the visitors that the monks are still live according to the ordinance, written 150 years ago.Father Paissy told the guests about the Russian church museum, unique monastery library, printing and that dream is to open the icon-painting workshop.The Russians, who believe in the inviolability of the historical, cultural and religious ties of Russia and Pridnestrovie, listened with interest to the clergyman, who spent Kitskany monastery for nearly a quarter century.
