The head of Pridnestrovian parliament, Alexander Shcherba, took part in the round table "The influence of Ukraine to the development of the situation around Pridnestrovie". The State Duma Committee for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots was organizer. The event was attended by State Duma deputies, as well as a delegation from Pridnestrovie headed by the Chairman of the Supreme Council of PMR.
According to RIA Novosti, one of the topics of the discussion was the expulsion of Russian diplomats from Moldova.
The expulsion of Russian diplomats from Moldova paralyzed the work of the Joint Control Commission for the management of peacekeeping forces in the security zone, the draft recommendation of the round table participants says. As you know, May 29 five Moldovan diplomats were declared persona non grata in Moldova, 4 of which are directly related to the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester. In response, Russia expelled 5 Moldovan diplomats from the country.
Participants of the roundtable also called for the suspension of the implementation of the decision on joint Moldovan-Ukrainian control on the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border. The State Duma is urging the Ukrainian authorities, the Government of Moldova, the OSCE to give an opportunity to realize peacekeeping initiatives and stop the actions leading to humanitarian disaster in the region, the draft recommendations of the round table participants, which is being held today in the State Duma.
One of the main appeals is to cancel or suspend the implementation of the decision on joint Moldovan-Ukrainian customs and border control in the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian section of the border due to direct violation of the negotiation process, ignoring the position of Pridnestrovie, blocking the discussion of this issue in the "5 + 2" format.
The document also indicates the need to ensure full-fledged work of the "Slobodka-Kolbasna" border railway crossing, including for the transportation of petroleum products (petroleum products), as well as the coordination on the basis of proposals previously submitted by Pridnestrovie for an optimal mechanism for importing goods for domestic consumption of Pridnestrovie.
In turn, the Government of Moldova was offered, among other things, to take measures to end the politically motivated criminal prosecution against representatives of the authorities and ordinary citizens of Moldova and Pridnestrovie and to lift the banking blockade of Pridnestrovie.
