As of October 1, the method of pension delivery will be changed in Pridnestrovie. Pensioners will receive pensions to a bank account. The Supreme Council adopted the corresponding amendments to the law "On state pension provision of citizens in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic" in July of this year. Exceptions were made for pensioners over 70 years old, disabled people of groups I and II, as well as pensioners living in villages where there are no bank or post office branches. They will continue to receive pensions with home delivery.
Deputies discussed the problem they encountered during their work in their constituencies in the course of today's meeting of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare. Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy and Healthcare Sergey Cheban noted that there are pensioners in Pridnestrovie whose health condition does not allow them to visit bank branches every month to withdraw their own funds.
The deputy noted that many pensioners with serious health problems do not apply for disability due to the complexity and length of the procedure. According to current regulations, the decision to determine disability is made after a whole range of diagnostic, therapeutic and rehabilitation measures are carried out at the direction of medical advisory commissions.
It was decided based on numerous requests from citizens to prepare law-in-draft that will allow pensioners whose health condition limits their ability to move around, regardless of their age or disability, to continue receiving pensions with home delivery. Deputies supported the law-in-draft in the first reading in the course of the meeting of the Committee. The legislative initiative to amend the law “On state pension provision for citizens in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic” will be considered by the deputy corps in the first reading this week, at a plenary session on the 25th of September.
