The Pridnestrovian delegation took part in the XIII Assembly of the Russian World, which was held from November 1 to 4 in Yaroslavl. The delegation included the Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council Galina Antyufeyeva, Deputy Head of the parliamentary committee on education, science and culture Ilona Tyuryaeva, the Minister of Health Alexei Tsurcan, the chairmen of the Central and Youth Election Commissions Elena Gorodetskaya and Natalya Vasilaty, rector of the Pridnestrovian State University named after T. G. Shevchenko Stepan Beryl.
The Russian World Assembly is an annual international forum organized by the Russky Mir Foundation. Traditionally, it takes place on the eve of National Unity Day. The forum aims to coordinate efforts to support and popularize the Russian language, culture, history of Russia, to unite Russian compatriots abroad and all who share the ideals and values of the Russian world.
This year, representatives of 72 countries became guests of the Assembly. In the framework of the forum, discussion platforms were organized. The topics concerned the study of the Russian language, the work of the Russian theater abroad, as well as the preservation of the memory of the Victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The year 2020 is declared by the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the Year of memory and glory.
Problems of Russian journalism abroad, ways to solve new challenges in the era of global digitalization were discussed at the forum. There were suggestions of new methods for promoting the Russian language and culture abroad.
