Traditional republican judo tournament dedicated to Victory Day was held in the sports complex of the city of Grigoriopol on May 18, according to the website of the local state administration. Commands of youth sports schools of Grigoriopol, Tiraspol, Bendery, Dubossary, Rybnitsa, villages of the Grigoriopol district Slobodzeia and Malaeshty competed.
The opening of the tournament was attended by the head of the state administration Oleg Gabuzha, deputy of the Supreme Council, chairman of the Republican Association of Afghanistan war veterans Igor Buga, leaders of the Unions of war veterans in Afghanistan and PMR defenders in Grigoriopol - Arkady Bodak and Sergey Kutovoy, chairman of the local Cossack district “PCI” Ilya Molodetsy.
Arkady Bodak told the young athletes about the Great Patriotic War, the feat of the Soviet people and price of the Great Victory.
Chairman of the Republican Association of War Veterans in Afghanistan Igor Buga noted that the older generation is doing everything possible so that our children grow up strong and brave, know their history and under no circumstances let it be rewritten. The parliamentarian wished all the participants of the tournament good luck and sports victories.
The Head of the state administration Oleg Gabuzha, wished the children that the sport help them to become true patriots and worthy citizens of the republic.
The tournament was attended by girls and boys of eight age categories: 2002-2013 year of birth. Organizers of the event: the Union of the war in Afghanistan, the Department of Sports and Tourism and the youth sports school of Grigoriopol.
