A round table dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the death of Nikolai Zelinsky, a great Soviet scientist, a native of Pridnestrovie was held in Tiraspol with the support of the International Association of Workers of Culture and Arts in Moscow and the State Service for Culture of Pridnestrovie. The main goal of the event was to draw the attention of the public and youth to the science and culture of their native land. Nikolai Dmitrievich Zelinsky, a scientist of world renown, the founder of a scientific school, known to most people as the creator of the first effective gas mask, was born and raised in Tiraspol. Participants in the round table, including representatives of science and culture, as well as authorities, expressed the conviction that the name of the scientist could become one of the brightest figures in shaping the image of the republic.
Praise and gratitude for attention to the theme among the adult participants of the round table was caused by the report of the fourth-form student of the Moscow school Zakhar Zandzhirbekov. The project of the young researcher, dedicated to the memory and heritage of Nikolai Zelinsky, took first place at the All-Russia conference of students in local history and history "Russia - My Fatherland - 2018", held in Moscow.
Workers of Tiraspol home museum academician N.D. Zelinsky helped the young researcher learn about the life and scientific discoveries of the great scientist. Household items of the Zelinsky family, archival documents telling about the life and work of the great scientist are collected in the museum. A part of the family archive was given to the house-museum by his daughter and grandchildren. The participants during the round table supported the proposal of Galina Galagan, president of the Association of Culture and Art Workers of Moscow, to hold an international competition for the best sketch of the new exposition of the museum house in Tiraspol, as well as the restoration of the museum yard. The idea of celebrating the International Day of Inventors and Innovators in Pridnestrovie was stimulated by a forum dedicated to the scientific achievements of the Soviet scientist. Following the discussion, a resolution was adopted.
