The state of emergency in Pridnestrovie was extended by 26 days - until May 1. Changes to the decree of the President Vadim Krasnoselsky were introduced on March 30. Today in the course of extraordinary meeting, deputies of the Supreme Council will approve the extension of the state of emergency. The day before, in the course of the meeting of the Committee on Legislation, deputies considered the corresponding draft resolution of the Supreme Council and voted for its adoption in the course of the emergency meeting.

In addition, in the legislative necessity regime, the Supreme Council received law-in-draft of the President on amendments to the constitutional law “On special legal regimes”. The amendments, in particular, propose to give the President the right, if necessary, to extend the terms of the state of emergency in the republic. In this case, the Supreme Council will not need to approve the corresponding decree of the President. Such a right will be temporary. The action of the new norm is planned to be established before the end of this year.

Under the conditions of an emergency regime for large-scale emergency rescue and other urgent work, temporary measure may also be the mobilization of the able-bodied population and the attraction of vehicles of Pridnestrovians. This will allow attracting people, including certain specialties, to carry out the necessary work on the non-proliferation of coronavirus infection. Such a measure is enshrined in the law-in-draft. The presidential initiative was supported by the deputies of the Legislation Committee. The final decision will be made by the deputy corps.
