The Supreme Council received law-in-draft from the President Vadim Krasnoselsky to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection. The document was sent in the regime of legislative necessity. Today at an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council, deputies will consider it in two readings. The law-in-draft clarifies the mechanism of action in organizing and conducting sanitary and anti-epidemic measures. The document speaks about the powers of officials responsible for sanitary and epidemiological control.
Amendments are made to the Law “On the Sanitary and Epidemiological Well-Being of the Population”, the Civil Procedure Code, the Criminal Codes and the Code of Administrative Offenses. The law-in-draft provides for liability for evading mandatory hospitalization for a medical examination or for temporary isolation of citizens with suspected infectious disease.
The Minister of Health Alexei Tsurcan took part in the meeting of the relevant committee. According to the Minister, an effective measure to prevent the spread of coronavirus infection is isolation, social disconnection.
Deputies of the Legislation Committee proposed to extend the action proposed by the law-in-draft until September 1 of this year. Discussion of the law-in-draft continues at an extraordinary meeting of the Supreme Council.
