The committees of the Supreme Council began to work after the parliamentary holidays. The first meeting was held by deputies of the Committee on Legislation, Law Enforcement, Defense, Security, Peacekeeping, Protection of Citizens' Rights and Freedoms. The agenda was very rich.

In particular, the parliamentarians again discussed the government's proposal to amend the Constitutional Law "On the PMR Prosecutor's Office". The corresponding initiative is being prepared for consideration at the plenary session in the second reading. Let's remind, the government offered to renew granting of privileges and social guarantees to public prosecutors since 2021. The possibility of increasing the wages of this category of civil servants was discussed during the meeting. The Head of the profile committee Galina Antyufeyeva considers it important to provide social benefits for prosecutors in the form of free travel in transport, as well as relaxation in the privatization of housing.

The agenda of today's meeting of the profile parliamentary committee includes the law-in-draft of deputies Galina Antyufeyeva and Grigory Dyachenko. The initiative concerns the provision of opportunities for citizens of the republic who receive a Pridnestrovian passport to keep a Soviet one. The development of the document was preceded by numerous appeals from voters.

According to the authors of the legislative initiative, it is extremely important for citizens possessing a USSR passport to preserve the document as a memorable item, a particle of the history of the Soviet period. The cancellation of the "old" passport will be made by stamping the stamp "Annulled" on its first page. Members of the Committee recommended that the deputy corps make appropriate changes and additions to the law "On the passport of a citizen of PMR".

Another draft, drafted jointly by deputies Galina Antyufeyeva, Grigory Dyachenko and Oleg Petrik, concerns the granting of the right to receive a deferment from conscription to those who receive postgraduate vocational education on full-time form of education in state universities. For today, there are 16 people of those wishing to receive a postponement from the conscription for the completion of postgraduate study, doctoral studies. The deputies of the profile committee supported the amendment proposed by the colleagues to the law "On General Military Duty and Military Service".
