The history of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic is introduced from this school year as a compulsory general educational subject. There are not still enough textbooks on the new discipline in schools. The way out of the current situation was suggested in the Ministry of Education: to transfer the saved funds for the purchase of textbooks under the textbook program. The legislative initiative of the government was supported by the parliamentary committee on education, science and culture.
As the representative of the Ministry of Public Affairs explained to the parliamentarians, 87.000 rubles were saved on the basis of the tender held this year. These funds will be enough to satisfy the real need of educational institutions in the necessary literature, while not exceeding the funding limits. Changes are made to the law "On the republican budget for 2018" and the law "On approval of the state target program "Textbook" for 2017-2021".
The deputies during the meeting of the relevant committee supported the legislative initiative of the head of the working body Mikhail Burly who proposed amendments to the Law on Education. The purpose of the law-in-draft is to secure the authority of the Ministry of Education to determine the timing and duration of the final state attestation (IGA) examinations for all educational institutions, regardless of departmental subordination.
According to the parliamentarian, there have been cases where the final certification in some educational institutions was held after passing exams to higher educational institutions. This applies to a number of institutions under the Ministry of Defense, Ministry of the Interior. This same category includes the Suvorov College, which was opened last year. Deputies were recommended to adopt the law-in-draft in the first reading.
