Non-tobacco mixtures banned

Комитет по социальной политике, здравоохранению, труду, вопросам семьи и детства

It has become fashionable to use non-tobacco blends among youth recently. This is an analogue of the classic snus - chewing tobacco. The technology of cooking does not use tobacco. The basis of the mixture is mint and herbs soaked in nicotine. Teenagers consider them harmless and are sure that tobacco-free mixtures help defeat nicotine addiction. But this is a fallacy.

A single dose of a tobacco-free mixture may contain from 10 to 249 mg of nicotine. Nicotine contains an average of about 1 mg in a cigarette, for example. There are already cases in our republic when people who distribute such products have been apprehend. However, law enforcement officers are only entitled to conduct an explanatory conversation. Responsibilities for this activity have not yet been provided by law. Deputy Yuri Kravchuk took the initiative to ban the distribution of nicotine chewing mixtures in Pridnestrovie. Members of the Committee on Social Policy and Health supported this proposal. The law-in-draft will be recommended to the Supreme Council for adoption in the first reading.
